Joel Kazmi

Joel’s career in music began back in 1994 when he graduated from the Harris Institute. Shortly thereafter, he gained work as an assistant engineer at Velvet Sound Studios. After leaving Velvet Sound, Joel began interning at Metalworks Studios before heading back to school to attend Fanshawe College in their Music Industry Arts Program in 1998. After graduating, Joel was subsequently hired as a staff engineer at Metalworks Studios from 1998-2003. He also spent time as a contract engineer with Sony/BMG between 2004 and 2005.

Following his tenure at Metalworks Studios, Joel founded his own Eleven Hurts Music Inc., to develop his career as a freelance engineer and producer. Joel has an extensive list of engineering and production credits on his resume, including engineering and producing Jacksoul’s Juno Award winning 2006 release, mySOUL. Joel has also engineered on several Gold and Platinum selling albums, including releases by N’Sync, Sum 41, Kalan Porter, The Tea Party, Sugar Jones and Sloan among many others.
